When the market is saturated, focus on profits rather than revenues

What is there to do when sales have plateaued? Focusing on sales is always a possibility, and we Evident has the skill set to go down that road (link to market research).  But what is there to do when the marketplace as a whole begins to shrink or your company is at capacity with an inability to increase? Evident has the tool set to work with your teams and inside your company to develop ways to increase throughput, cut down on time, decrease resources and eliminate losses.

Find Physical, Intrinsic, and Mental Waste

Leftover scrap from the manufacturing process is easy to spot.  But the physical loss of time is much harder to spot.  A slower step in Process A may cause issues for Process D2 which only happens 3 times a week, but causes processes E, F, and G down time which affects all of the lines. Monitoring processes, collecting data on the processes, and analyzing the data and processes can bring these issues to light, and allow them to be avoided and fixed.

What about though waste that is hidden throughout the entire process?  Waste that is taken as a matter-of-fact?  While some waste cannot be avoided, it can be tracked, planned, and optimized.  Knowing and understanding the issues of the processes within your company allows you to have a guidebook for emergencies.  Being able to react quickly and effectively to downtime, safety issues (link to EHS), machine issues, and manufacturing flaws can allow your company to maximize it output and minimize loss, at the expense of the intrinsic waste.  Do current reactions make sense? Can issues be tracked and predicted? How unsafe is something, and can it be prevented? Evident has the team who has the experience and knowledge to help build responses and plans to mitigate inevitable damage.
